Winning the Atlanta International Open IBJJF Championship

This past weekend we took over 150 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors to the Atlanta International Open IBJJF Championship. The International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) hosts the largest and most prestigious BJJ tournaments in the world. This is only the 2nd time they have hosted a tournament in GA.

Last year we placed 2nd against our only rival in BJJ in Georgia the Alliance. In the 2012 tournament Alliance bested us by 19 points (552 to 533 points). 3rd place took 153 points.

This year we were determined to win the tournament and our guys trained 7 days per week for the past 3 months. Many of our competitors started their in season training back in January to ensure they would be ready to perform. It was a very close tournament but we bested the Alliance 485 points to their 467 points. 3rd place came in with 186 points. The full results can be found here – http://static.ibjjfdb.com/Campeonato/000201/en-US/Results.pdf

Congratulations to all of the competitors that helped us win this very competitive and tough competition.
