The ever famous and fun this vs that videos

This section of our website is for educational and amusement purposes.  In the past 17 years martial arts have under gone a revolution.  Before Royce Gracie crushed his opponents in the first UFC many believed their martial arts were effective by themselves.  Modern martial artists cross train in many disciplines. Martial arts, such as Karate, that were once dismissed as worthless by some MMA practitioners, are now proving their effectiveness in the ring by competitors that take the best from Karate and add it to the best of Muay Thai, boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling.  A modern martial arts academe trains students in effective techniques from a variety of arts to produce a well rounded martial artist.  At Unit 2 we train students in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, submission wrestling, Muay Thai, boxing, karate, and various other arts.  Our instructors are world champions in various martial arts and have proved the effectiveness of their styles in professional combat.  Traven, our head MMA and BJJ coach, is a 2 time world Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion, Abu Dhabi submission wrestling champion, and veteran of the UFC and Rings of Japan.  Randy Pogue, our head striking coach, is a multi time world champion in full contact kickboxing.  Our other instructors have martial arts backgrounds including karate, tae kwon do, judo, wrestling, and boxing.

These pages are designed to help you make rational decisions about your training, the instructors you choose to learn from, and make you laugh in some cases.  We believe that any martial art that proves its worth and effectiveness in the ring can be useful if cross trained with other martial arts and that no one martial art has it all.
